Plant Animation

This is my plant animation is about how plants grow. It was a long time to do my animation but I got it at the end and because we had to duplicate the slides and put lots and lots of images on to make the same images on every other side. It was fun and creative to do in class.

Electricity

In Te Maunga we did some t-shaped literacy about electricity so today we did a makerspace about electricity. My group was Akira, Ayanda, Brisa, Ricky-May, Shivam and Yazmin it was a good group to work with. The thing I am going to talk about is how we made a light and fan go at the same time. So it was very hard to do but we got it at the end. It was so exciting my brain blew up, that I knew that I could make electricity out of an easy game.

Makerspace

Hi my name is Fern and I am a year 5 at Paihia School. Last Friday , in Te Maunga we did a makerspace about healthy eating so we made some healthy foods. These are all the things we used out of the garden carrots, silver beet, parsley and celery. My group made a really healthy salad using carrots, parsley, almonds, lettuce, strawberries, pears, grapes, ham and cucumber. We had it for lunch and it was really healthy and delicious. These are the people in my group were Akira, Ayanda, Brisa and Yazmin and the judges were Mrs Pou, Brigit and Miss Bayliss. Find a good place to plant your seeds were there is water and sunlight. They absorb minerals and water through their roots and turn them into something sticky which is called zap, it is the plants blood. It moves water and minerals around the plant where they are needed. They absorb energy from the sun and use it to turn the water from the soil into carbon dioxide. (Co2) from the air into different kinds of sugars. plants need these sugars to grow branches, leaves, flowers and fruit. Sugar goes up their roots into the leaves and then they grow to a tree flowers or they create fruit. Different fruits and vegetables grow in different spaces and times of the day. Plants can be overcooked just like us, when the temperature gets too hot in the living room the plants get too dehydrated, there are also vents on the top of the living room when they open the hot air leaks out. The living room is cool and the plants can provide oxygen.
